THEN...
NOW...I've always loved the idea of designing furniture and housewares, but it was when I made some soap as gifts for Christmas of 2003 that I got the first idea of having a bath and body company. I got some really good feedback on the soaps, and I had really enjoyed the process. I liked having a three-dimensional object to give as a gift, which was a nice change after working so long in a 2-D world.
Like lots of "product junkies" I was always into bath stores, like Lush, Fresh, Body Shop, Origins, etc and thought that I could apply my skills in design, marketing, cooking and conceptualizing to carve out my own small piece of the bath product pie. So I started with the 100% Goodness Bars, then expanded to Body Butter and Sugar Scrubs, and now have even more products that keep getting better and better.
A year and a half after selling my first soap at the Atlantic Antic street fair I am pleased with where my company is, and know that it will take a lot more work to keep it growing. And a bigger kitchen. But since people seem to love the products so much, it's a noble cause worth taking.
